Two Industry Leaders on the Growing Complexity of Genomic Cancer Data
Today, we have a fascinating interview exploring ways that two industry leaders, Illumina and The Jackson Laboratory, are helping testing labs embrace the ever-growing complexity and volume of cancer data. This show is part of our ongoing series co-produced with GenomeWeb. As before, the show is open to all, but you must register to listen, like with a webinar. Unlike a webinar, the podcast is immediately available.
0:00 How are we dealing with the growing complexity of cancer data?
9:35 The JAX Knowledgebase (CKB)
15:30 The oncologist's experience in accessing genomic data22:30 Wave a magic wand
30:50 Advice for new labs doing cancer testing?
The Clinical Knowledgebase (CKB) powered by The Jackson Laboratory (JAX) is a dynamic digital resource for interpreting complex cancer genomic profiles in the context of gene variant knowledge and protein impact, therapies, and clinical trials. Illumina has teamed up with JAX in the newly released Connected Insights software, which integrates CKB as a knowledge source. We’re joined by Cara Statz from JAX and Erica Schnettler from Illumina to discuss how their combined technologies are helping researchers and oncologists deal with the increasing complexity of cancer genomic data. They discuss oncologists' experience with an overwhelming amount of new scientific data, and both guests give their advice for new labs setting up cancer testing.
